STRIPED BASS

Striped bass are the most popular fish of the inshore waters of Raritan Bay.  Their size, strength, and closeness to shore make them extremely popular among sport anglers.  We fish for striped bass in both the spring and fall.  The spring is great from late March through June, and the fall is superb from mid-October through December.   Live Bunker, clam-chumming and jigging are the methods we employ when pursuing these gamefish...

State conservation regulations are strictly adhered to, no exceptions.

WRECK FISH

Fishing the wrecks and reef sites off Sandy Hook, NJ  and Rockaway, NY  provides anglers with an opportunity to experience fantastic fishing action with some hard fighting fish that are also exceptional table fare.  Sea bass and tautog(blackfish) are the most sought after fish on these trips.  Generally, fishing for tog is best from December thru the middle of January, and again in the spring starting in early April.  The spring fishery usually lasts right into the summer, as well.  Sea bass fishing is usually very good throughout the season, with the best bites from early May thru June and September thru October.

FLUKE FISHING

Fluke, otherwise known as summer flounder,  are the most popular inshore fish to target from mid-June thru September.  They are lots of fun to catch, and they are also great eating fish.  We specialize in targeting fluke with our “unconventional” methods that have made our captain one of the top producers in the area. We also specialize in deepwater doormat fluke trips in the Ocean, depending on where the best fishing is at the time.  Also on these trips, there is a chance for lots of variety!  Anglers also have a chance at catching weakfish, sea bass, porgies and bluefish on these trips as well.

CHUMMING, JIGGING & TROLLING

Inshore chumming, jigging and trolling around Raritan Bay can be very productive throughout the season.  In the spring from May thru June, jumbo Bluefish and Striped Bass can be found at many of the inshore lumps and channel edges.  Through the summer, false albacore, bluefish, bonita, spanish mackerel, and scattered school-tuna make their appearance at inshore, ocean, locations.
